Principles of Design: Personal Poems

It is my true belief that when teaching, especially Art,  there should always be an element of self discovery or self expression, even in the most mundane of lessons.  Take for example, learning about the basic Principles of Design and the definition of those art terms, not usually exciting or personally relative!    I created this Personal Poem work sheet, helping students relate the art terminology with their own life experiences (as well as incorporating a little language arts into the art curriculum) :  

Notice the Principles of Design terms are in all caps and bold.
